June 5 - End of Program Celebration and Fundraiser |
|
Come to the Street Academy on Friday, June 5th, 2009 from 6pm to 8pm to celebrate the end of our 36th year of educating Bay Area youth. We will be highlighting the hard work from our innovative Express Yo'Self after school program, including an exhibit by Erica Varize's Fasion Arts class, Destiny Arts Dancers, Capoeria Afro-Brazillian Martial Arts, T.U.R.F. featuring Architeckz, Ballet Folklorico de los Zapatistas, and Aztec Dance. We will also dedicate our student-created graffiti wall. There will be music thanks to DJ Mando, as well as student art, film, food and more! And remember, this is a fundraiser, so bring your cash and your check books and help support social justice education in Oakland. If you are unable to attend this event, but still want to support this innovative school, you can mail or drop off your donation to: Street Academy Year End Celebration, 417 29th st. Oakland, Ca 94609. Please make checks payable to The Street Academy Foundation. Soon we will be accepting donations through this site.
